As the owner and sole employee of Coffee Talk, the cafe of the same name located in Seattle, Washington, a barista is living in a fantasy universe populated by elves, orcs, mermaids and other fantasy races. The store serves several members of these races as customers. Every day of the game acts as a vignette in which several characters visit the cafe and discuss their concerns with the barista. A fictional newspaper’s journalist, Freya, is one of the characters in the game.
An aspiring fiction writer and member of Evening Whispers; Rachel, a former band member trying to launch a solo career; Neil, an alien on a breeding mission to breed the inhabitants of Earth; Lua, a succubus, and Baileys, an elf, whose families disagree with their relationship due to their racial differences; and others.
Coffee Talk download for pc consists primarily of reading dialogue. The dialogue is periodically interrupted by a mini-game in which the player prepares drinks using ingredients from the canteen.
